Real Wedding - Karen and Simon

Real Wedding - Karen and Simon

WHERE: St. Mary’s Church, Norfolk

WHEN: 2nd July 2005

PHOTOGRAPHER: Peter Warboys

HOW THEY MET

Simon and Karen met at a mutual friend’s farm in 2003.

THE PROPOSAL

Simon surprised Karen with his proposal after cooking her a romantic candlelit dinner.

SHE WORE

Karen’s strapless Alan Hannah dress, called Lisette, suited her skin tone perfectly, The stunning gold dress had a structured boned corset style bodice which laced up at the back and was covered in incricate beading and sequins. The A-line skirt flowed into a medium length train at the back.

ACCESSORIES

Karen wore an exquisite tiara decorated with diamante – it complimented her white gold and diamond necklace and matching earrings perfectly. Her pretty satin shoes, called ‘Stevie’ from Rainbow Club, were dyed to match exactly the colour of her dress.

HE WORE

Simon hired his grooms wear from Moss Bros Ltd. They wore traditional grey morning suits with gold and cream waistcoats, finished with gold cravats.

BRIDESMAIDS

Karen’s two bridesmaids wore classic ivory dresses made in a combination of duchesse satin and organza. To be in keeping with their colour scheme a gold organza cummerbund was incorporated onto the bodice of the dresses, which complimented the bride perfectly.

FLOWERS

Roses were the main flower of the day so Karen carried a stunning bouquet of cream roses, white calla lilies with foliage and diamante. The bridesmaids held pretty hand-tied posies of cream roses and the men wore rose buttonholes.

CAKE

The delicious creation made up of three tiers was a light sponge with a dark chocolate mousse filling. It was covered with yummy white chocolate curls and finished with fresh roses and ivy.

FAVOURS

They gave all of the guests little sugar mice in delicate organza bags.

BRIDES TIP

“Enlist the help of your family and friends as much as possible; you will be amazed at what hidden talents emerge when challenges are put to them. Be creative and personalise your day by making your own name cards and table plan”.

SPECIAL MOMENTS

“One of our favourite moments was outside the church after we were married. Our venue kindly provided us with a huge basket of fresh rose petals to use as confetti. As our family and friends threw the petals into the air, we were showered with a beautiful array of the most amazing colours. It is a memory we’ll treasure forever!”
