Real Wedding - Natalie and Tim

Real Wedding - Natalie and Tim

WHERE: El Bar Del Club, Puerto Calero, Lanzerote

WHEN: Febuary 2005

PHOTOGRAPHER: 123 Photography

SHE WORE

Natalie found her dream dress in Pronuptia of Paris! She chose a wonderful off-the-shoulder gown, in ivory and cream satin. The bodice was edged with rosebuds and had an elegant A-line skirt with a detachable tulle train, also with rosebud details. As Lanzarote is renowned for being windy, Natalie opted to wear fresh roses in her hair, rather than a veil, which looked amazing. She wore flat ivory satin ballet shoes as, at six feet tall, Natalie didn’t want to tower over everyone in four-inch heels!

HE WORE

Tim’s suit came from the ‘Classical’ range at Pronuptia and was called ‘Chopin.’ He wore a warm brown jacket and black trousers with a champagne-coloured waistcoat and cravat to complement the bridesmaids’ dresses.

THE BRIDESMAIDS

The two adult bridesmaids wore strapless gold dresses with matching corsages and pearl tiaras. The flowergirls wore gold dresses which had skirts with a pretty petal detail and an ivory bodice. They carried ivory and gold dolly bags which held bougainvillea petals to scatter in Natalie’s path and they also wore fresh flowers in their hair.

THE FLOWERS

The flowers used on the day were cream and gold roses and the bride carried a bouquet surrounded by aspidistra leaves and dotted with pearls. The table decorations consisted of cream roses and calla lilies with trailing ivy.

THE VENUE

The ceremony was held on the veranda of the El Bar del Club, a white, colonial-style building in the harbour of Puerto Calero, with the reception in the restaurant.

THE CEREMONY

The bride entered to the Wedding March from Lohengon and the processional was to Wider Toccata. They also had a reading of ‘Love is a temporary madness’ from the novel Captain Corelli’s Mandolin.

THE CAKE

The couple had a two-tier sponge, iced in gold and white to fit in with their colour theme. The words, ‘To have and to hold from this day forward’ were piped around the base of the cake.

THE FAVOURS

Were made by Natalie’s mum and were in the style of a gift box, trimmed with gold satin ribbon and doubled as place names with a name tag written in gold.

THE THEME

The feel for their wedding was a relaxed, informal and happy day. After the main reception the wedding party returned to their hotel for drinks and enjoyed an amazing night with entertainment provided by Natalie and Tim’s friends, Gerie Barber and PJ Thomas, who are professional singers and live and work on Lanzarote.
