WHERE: Whiston Parish Church and Aston Hall Hotel, Sheffield

WHEN: 20th May 2006

PHOTOGRAPHER: John Wilson

HOW THEY MET

Hayley and Matt met whilst working together in a pub. It wasn’t love at first sight and it took them a year to realise that they would be perfect together.

THE PROPOSAL

Matt proposed to Hayley on their way out to dinner. He organised for a chauffeur driven car to take them to their 'to be' reception venue for a meal, and produced a beautiful diamond ring on the way as they sipped champagne.

SHE WORE

Designed by Sincerity and bought from Bridal Affairs, Rotherham, Hayley’s beautiful silk, strapless gown had an embroidered lace overlay. It was finished with pretty sparkles embellished over the A-line skirt and train.

ACCESSORIES

Hayley wore a pretty tiara and a full-length veil, and Matt sent her a gorgeous diamond necklace, earring and bracelet set for her to wear on the day. Her ivory sequined shoes were called ‘Mary Jane’ and were from House of Fraser.

HE WORE

Hired from Bridal Affairs, Rotherham, Matt looked handsome in his traditional suit with all the trimmings, black top hat and tails with ivory waistcoats and cravats.

THE BRIDESMAIDS

Hayley’s two adult bridesmaids wore different styles to match their shape; one wore a knee-length strapless prom style dress with multiple netted layers.

The other wore a full-length slim fitted dress with a strapped jewelled bodice and small train. The four small bridesmaids wore ivory embroidered lace covered dresses by Jasper Conran at Debenhams.

THE FLOWERS

Hayley’s incredible flowers, by Kelly at Bloomin Luvley, Rotherham were hand-tied a mixture of pink and orange gerberas, pink roses and lime green chrysanthemums.

TRANSPORT

Hayley arrived in style in a champagne coloured Daimler limousine. Unfortunately Matt’s organised transport (three Jaguars) didn’t turn up so he had to drive to the church in Hayley’s Astra! If they had known that this was going to happen he could have arrived in his MG sports car - luckily his mum was on hand to dust down his coat!

CEREMONY

After arriving half an hour late and feeling rather nervous, Hayley made her way into the church and seeing all of her relatives in one place was very special but seeing Matt calmed her down completely. During the ceremony she put Matt's ring on the wrong hand and it got stuck – they managed to change it over while they were signing the register! After the ceremony it was raining heavily, but it didn't spoil a thing.

RECEPTION

Tall trumpet vases were the main attraction of the tables, each filled with cut limes and an amazing array of flowers complete with trailing foliage. The chairs looked beautiful with white covers and a pale pink organza ribbon tied around each one. Hayley created her own pretty table plan using card and pink ribbon.

THE CAKE

A fantastic four tiers of fruitcake were stacked on top of each other to create a pretty feature. It was decorated in white icing with a simple pattern and finished with a lovely “Bride and Groom” topper.

FAVOURS

Hayley and Matt painstakingly made 120 ivory hexagonal boxes which were then filled with pink tissue paper, sparkles and a pink chocolate heart. The boxes were completed with a ribbon and a nametag.

BRIDES TIP

“Enjoy every second and try not to get caught up in the tiny details! Also, look on e-bay for favours as these can work out very expensive otherwise”.

GROOMS TIP

“Make sure you have your own hip flask full of brandy - Hayley was half an hour late so I kept sipping from mine (and the groomsmen’s) to calm my nerves. My Nan did tell me to stop though because she could smell alcohol!”

SPECIAL MOMENTS

“We slipped away for half an hour between the sit down meal and the evening reception to be alone and take in how special the day had been. After our first dance we enjoyed fantastic fireworks, which really wowed us and our guests”.

THE HONEYMOON

Hayley and Matt went to Cuba for their honeymoon and enjoyed spending time together in paradise.
