Real Wedding - Claire and Anthony

Real Wedding - Claire and Anthony

WHERE: St Mary Magdalene Church, Trimdon Village

    WHEN: 28th October 2006

    PHOTOGRAPHER: Andrew Scott

    HOW THEY MET

Claire met Anthony at her cousins wedding.

    THE PROPOSAL

As Claire and Anthony had been together for many years they decided between them to get married during a night in watching the television.

    SHE WORE

Claire found her beautiful dress in Exclusively Yours by Tara, Wingate.

The strapless Benjamin Roberts gown included a princess-line style with a chiffon overlay, satin ribbons and intricate bead detailing.

    ACCESSORIES

Claire’s delicate necklace and earrings were bought from Next. Amanda Wakeley designed her pretty tiara and she bought her shoes from the Johanna Hehir range.

    HE WORE

Anthony hired his classic tailcoat and pinstripe trousers from Gavin Scott, Darlington. The ivory and gold waistcoat complemented his outfit which was finished with a burgundy cravat.

    THE BRIDESMAIDS

The seven elder bridesmaids wore gorgeous gowns from Dessy; to flatter their different shapes Claire let them choose their style between long and tea length. Their flower girl wore a pretty ivory dress from Debenhams.

    THE FLOWERS

Claire and her bridesmaids had lots of fun putting together their beautiful bouquets. Ordered from FWX flowers Claire’s bouquet contained mango Calla lilies, Schwarz alder lilies and crystal blush lilies. The bridesmaids each carried three mango lilies and the youngest bridesmaid carried a small bouquet of orange gerberas.

    TRANSPORT

The bridesmaids arrived in style in a Daimler limousine, while Claire and her dad arrived in a classic Rolls Royce.

    SPECIAL MOMENTS

“I can't pick up on any one moment that was special as it was all special! Although I was quite moved when Anthony got quite emotional when saying his vows!”

    RECEPTION ACCESSORIES

On each table sat a burnt orange hurricane lamp filled with gold sand and a candle. The base was decorated with artificial autumn foliage and fir cones. Between each vase sat two tea lights and two frosted, flocked votives. The place names were fir cones with the guests name slotted in between the grooves which looked really effective

    THE CAKE

The delicious three-tiers, decorated in white icing and covered in icing hearts and red diamante, was made up of spice cake and chocolate sponge. A vase separated the top tier from the bottom two with deep red gerberas inside, and it was finished with a heart explosion on the top.

    MUSIC

The couple played a CD of love songs during the wedding breakfast and in the evening the guests all danced the night away to a disco.

    THEME

The theme was autumnal so the colours that were incorporated were burgundy, gold, ivory and orange.

    BRIDES TIP

“We were on a tight budget so we saved money on making most things ourselves. We made the invites, flowers and centrepieces ourselves which also adds more of a personal touch!”

    THE HONEYMOON

Claire and Anthony enjoyed a relaxing week in Sharm el Sheik, Egypt.
