WHERE: Carleton Rode Church, Elms Barn WHEN: 28th June 2008 How they met Sarah used to work in a pub with Carl's friends - they hit it off when Carl went in for a drink. Proposal Carl had been winding Sarah up for months beforehand saying he was going to propose. He eventually pulled out a ring box one day - while they were relaxing at home - and Sarah's response was "Stop winding me up and get lost"! She wore The beautiful ivory design called Bay of Rainbows by Chanticleer bought from Lavender and Jude in Stradbroke featured a duchesse satin bodice with some pretty detail across the neckline and capped sleeves. The full organza skirt flowed out into a medium train. Her shoes were ‘Heather' from Rainbow Club. He wore Hired from Parkers of Lowestoft, Carl opted for traditional morning suits complete with cream waistcoats. To differentiate the groom from the groomsmen Carl wore a cream cravat. Bridesmaids All five bridesmaids wore pretty duck egg blue tea-length dresses by designer Hilary Morgan. Flowers A lovely mixture of freesias, peonies, rosemary, hydrangeas, roses and agapanthus made up each of the bouquets. Cake Caramel, lemon and raspberry layers made up the delicious four-tier creation by Vanilla Patisserie. Favours Instead of the traditional bombonieres, Sarah and Carl donated the money to a charity of their choosing. Wedding Theme Stars. Sarah managed to find a veil that had a star pattern, she then found a graphic designer to draw the pattern and they used it on all of their stationery and the cake. Bride's tip "Practice walking in your dress! I tried to walk in it the day before and kept tripping - it needed a last adjustment to make it shorter. Also, make sure the photographer takes photos of you with special people like your best friend - it's easy to get carried away with traditional formal shots." Groom's tip "Try and do the speeches before you eat - I knew that I wouldn't have enjoyed the food as much if I had waited." Honeymoon A Caribbean Cruise is booked for September - some relaxing and sunshine to look forward to. |
