The bridesmaids wore two-piece ivory duchesse satin dresses with an A-line skirt. The top had a lace over-lay with small straps, with a sash in the same material as the brides dress. The flower girl an adorable dress made by Jamie's Mum.

Flowers

The Bride carried a stunning bouquet shaped like a large teardrop consisting of ivory gerberas and roses with pearls in the centre of them. The adult bridesmaids had posies made up of different pink gerberas also with pink pearls in the centres. The flower girl had a small fairy wand with a large pink gerbera on the top.

Transport

The car was an amazing 1960 pink Cadillac.

Reception

Held in a marquee, the reception was kept elegant and simple with delicate hints of pink. The table centres were gerbera-filled goldfish bowls with pink tea lights sitting around the bowl. To keep things personal, Gemma and Jamie had the meanings of everyone's names put onto the back of their individual place cards.

Cake

The gorgeous four-tiered cake certainly got taste buds working. Each tier was a different flavour - chocolate fudge, lemon sponge, black cherry and white chocolate with the last tier being traditional fruitcake. The cake was white with a sparkle affect with raised hearts and gerberas placed on each tier with one large gerbera on the top.

Favours

The men were given miniature bottles of Scotch whisky personalised with a picture of the couple and the date of the wedding. Ladies were given personalised CDs made up of songs that meant something to Gemma and Jamie; they also received small pink organza bags with five pink almonds and a pink chocolate heart. For the children small activity boxes were created including bubbles, colouring pencils, toys and an activity book. The babies received either a soft ball or book.

Theme

Jamie and Gemma wanted their wedding to be traditional with accessories and ideas that reflected their own personalities.

Special Touches

In memory of her Dad and Granddad, Gemma took a moment during the ceremony to light a candle for each of them. During the evening a large pic and mix stand was set up with big tubs of retro sweets with small paper bags and tongs – it was a great focal point which got everyone talking!

Honeymoon

The couple had originally booked to go to Riviera Maya in Mexico for a two week relaxing holiday, unfortunately Hurricane Dean decided to visit the day they were due to go so it was postponed until November. They managed to book a last minute cruise around the East Mediterranean, so were still able to get away after the wedding.

Bride's tip

"Book as much as you can in advance, try not to leave bits until the week before the wedding. We managed to get everything done and finished two weeks before the wedding, this meant we could relax and enjoy the lead up to our wedding and spend it with our family and friends. We managed to make lots of things ourselves, which saved us lots of money and gave us great satisfaction. Just enjoy it all, it's the most magical day of your life don't get stressed over little things it all works out in the end!"

Groom's tip

"Remember to take time out throughout the day to spend time with your bride and take in and appreciate everything that is going on around you as the day really does fly by."
