Get away from it all and put your feet up at this gorgeous London hotel, perfectly located in the heart of Knightsbridge...Rachel Southwood visits london for a romantic stay at The Egerton
Why Go?
Because you’re worth it! Check in at The Egerton to experience one of the big city’s best kept secrets. For a romantic break, an incredible first night stay or as part of your honeymoon, you’ll find everything that’s good about boutique hotels at The Egerton.
Where is it?
A short hop away from all the major sites – The Albert Hall, Hyde Park, Park Lane – and just round the corner from Harrods. It’s ideally situated for the fabulous V&A and the Natural History Museum. Knightsbridge is one of the UK’s most prestigious neighbourhoods, and the hotel itself sits on a street straight out of any picture book of London.
Rooms and rates
This is the best bit! We couldn’t wait to tell you about the most sumptuous suites – the antique furniture, soft furnishings to die for and the amazing attention to detail. The four-poster beds that guarantee a great night’s sleep, the iPod docking station, Wifi access and huge flatscreen TV… not to mention the marble bathroom. Our jaws dropped when we entered the room, but we felt instantly at home there. We stayed in a Studio Suite, but we were shown all the other room types and we can safely say that disappointment is something you will not experience at this hotel. Room prices start at around £235, but there are always great deals and packages to be had on the website.
Honeymoon treats
We had the warmest of welcomes at the reception, and once in our room, we were greeted with champagne on ice and chocolate dipped strawberries – delicious! The owner of this hotel also owns a vineyard, so a bottle of chilled white from their collection is highly recommended. Lie back and relax before padding down to the bar where the infamous barman Antonio will mix you up a mind-blowing Martini. Just don’t plan on doing a whole lot else after you have sipped more than two!
