What’s great about it?
The moment you step into the hotel, you know that Brown’s is a destination steeped in luxury and history. Opened in 1837, the hotel has played host to royalty, prime ministers and presidents, including Queen Victoria, Napoleon III and Winston Churchill. In 2004 the hotel was acquired by Rocco Forte and carefully modernised into a hotel that boasts contemporary facilities and top-class service, while still retaining all the elegance and class of a Victorian premises.
What facilities are there?
After Rocco Forte’s £24 million renovation, Brown’s has a relaxing spa and gym, as well as 117 bedrooms, including 19 suites. Each room has air conditioning, broadband internet connection, digital flatscreen LCD TV, 1,500 CD tracks, and much more.
When it comes to refreshments, Brown’s is renowned for its English tea room, which was adored by Queen Victoria and Agatha Christie, and is still one of London’s most popular destinations for afternoon tea. The Donovan bar is the place to go for cocktails and live music after dark. Or if it’s food you’re after, The Grill offers a full a la carte menu and private banquette booths.

Whether it’s the ceremony, wedding breakfast or evening reception, you’re guaranteed a very special welcome. Brown’s has a private entrance for weddings and a celebrity-worthy red carpet. There are six private rooms, accommodating receptions of up to 120 or seated dinners for up to 72 people.
